Technical Officer

An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and highly experienced Technical Officer to join the Transport Drainage Infrastructure Planning Program at Mackay Regional Council.

 

The Role

This position supports the development of and delivery of future capital works projects and the management and assessment of existing roads, drainage & structural infrastructure assets in the early stages of planning, design and investigations to assist with project delivery, asset replacement or rehabilitation planning.

 

Ensure that the planning and design stages of site infrastructure projects have the appropriate concept development and business cases created to allow approval submission, conforming to Council and other relevant design standards, and meet project scope, budget and timeframe requirements.

 

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering or commensurate.
  • Demonstrated Engineering experience related to the design, construction management, maintenance and/or contract administration of site services and project infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: planning, forecasting, budgeting, design, construction management, asset maintenance and/or contract administration of Public Works engineering infrastructure.
  • Experience in project delivery including cost control, tracking and reporting on costs.
  • Practical experience in the implementation, development and maintenance of an Asset Management System.
  • Current QLD ‘C’ Class drivers licence.
