Customer Service Officer
Mackay Regional Council is looking for an experienced Call Centre Customer Service Officer to join our Customer Service team on a part time basis. Working 8 hours a week with the opportunity to work up to 36.25 hours to assist covering for staff leave. This opportunity will be based out at our Mackay office.
The role involves:
• First line of enquiry for customers and general Council support
• Demonstrate proactive professional customer service skills in a fast-paced environment
• Attempt to resolve calls at first point of contact
• Logging of customer requests (in Pathway)
• Records and database management in Council’s electronic record management system, ensuring accuracy, integrity and confidentiality
• Provide consistent and high-quality service standard to our customers
• Respond to customer enquiries within a timely and accurate manner
• Respond to customer enquiries from multiple communication avenues
• Manage your own work performance to meet set objectives
• Ensure every customer is treated with an empathetic approach
• Ad hoc administrative support
A bit about you:
• High volume Contact Centre experience an advantage
• Computer literacy skills with high levels of data entry accuracy and speed
• Strong systems capability with Microsoft Office skills essential
• Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people
• High resilience level and the ability to work well under pressure
• Experience working in a team-based environment
• Flexible work approach and able to adapt to an ever-changing working environment
