Customer Service Officer

Mackay Regional Council is looking for an experienced Call Centre Customer Service Officer to join our Customer Service team on a temporary part-time basis (25 hours per week) until 30th April 2021. This opportunity will be based out at our Mackay office.

 

The role involves:

•           First line of enquiry for customers and general Council support

•           Demonstrate proactive professional customer service skills in a fast-paced environment

•           Attempt to resolve calls at first point of contact

•           Logging of customer requests (in Pathway)

•           Records and database management in Council’s electronic record management system, ensuring accuracy, integrity and confidentiality

•           Provide consistent and high-quality service standard to our customers

•           Respond to customer enquiries within a timely and accurate manner

•           Respond to customer enquiries from multiple communication avenues

•           Manage your own work performance to meet set objectives

•           Ensure every customer is treated with an empathetic approach

•           Ad hoc administrative support

 

A bit about you:

•           High volume Contact Centre experience an advantage

•           Computer literacy skills with high levels of data entry accuracy and speed

•           Strong systems capability with Microsoft Office skills essential

•           Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people

•           High resilience level and the ability to work well under pressure

•           Experience working in a team-based environment

•           Flexible work approach and able to adapt to an ever-changing working environment

 

In return for your valued contribution, you will be rewarded with:

•           Part-time 25 hours per week (5 hours per day Monday to Friday)

•           Hourly rate from $32.09 + applicable allowances

•           Standard 9.5% superannuation (conditions apply)

•           Choice of 4 or 5 weeks’ annual leave with 17.5% leave loading (Pro rata basis) 

•           May be eligible for salary sacrificing options

•           Employee Assistance Program

•           Employee health and wellbeing initiatives
