Laboratory Technician
Due to the retirement of a long serving employee, Puma Energy Bitumen requires a Laboratory Technician to join our dedicated team at the Altona (Melbourne) Global Bitumen Technology Centre; an industry-leading development and support facility for Puma’s global bitumen business
This role is accountable for performing certification and surveillance Quality Control (QC) testing of bitumen products in line with NATA accreditation standards. The Laboratory Technician will also contribute to the development and technical support of bituminous products.
Key responsibilities include:
- quality control testing
- laboratory training
- equipment calibration and maintenance
- round robin, inter-lab, and inter-operator testing
- laboratory auditing and safety inspections
Our ideal applicant:
- tertiary qualifications in a science field or relevant extensive skills and experience
- experience in laboratory QC testing (essential)
- experience in the bitumen industry will be highly regarded, along with an understanding of: bituminous binders, polymers, road pavement and surfacing applications and related testing; and an understanding of operational perspectives, mechanical processes and regulatory frameworks.
