Connectel Pty Ltd - General Manager of Operations

Connectel build carrier networks including:  Fibre networks, Copper networks, Mobile networks, Microwave networks, Fixed wireless networks, Satellite networks and telepower systems. 

we have a National presence with offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth and perform services for Carriers, Vendors and tier 1 providers. 

The role has the following key resposibilities: 

  1. Operational Oversight: 
  • Manages operational statistics such as productivity, production schedules, efficiency, quality, and profitability
  • Monitors Quality improvement and key risk management areas
  • Oversees hire/dismissals, bonus plans, salary/review/merits, promotions, job descriptions, and training needs
  • Ensures that policy objectives and operational procedures are developed
  • Ensures all services are of high quality and delivered on time
  1. Performance Management: 
  • Establishes individual performance goals, reviews them with direct reports
  • Coordinates efforts over all senior staff to ensure performance standards are adhered to
  • Works with individual managers to develop specific goals for them to reach, managers on career development
  1. Financial Performance:
  • Assures compliance with financial goals through oversight of budgets, routine monitoring of results and analysis of variances
  • Monitors financial performance of all service lines and rates
  • Appraises operational financial position and issues monthly and reports to the MD / Management committee on the organisations financial position
  1. Operational Goals:
  • Prepare and discuss operational goals with the MD and at the MM meetings 
  • Constructively works with the MD / MM to help create goals and incentives that will be mutually beneficial for the business
  • Helps set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely) GOALS for the operational teams that will positively affect business profitability 
  • Sets standard “benchmarks” for all product/service lines that are used to determine the success of each product/service lines
