The Role

The Program Facilitator develops and delivers a range of services to support men and young people who choose to use violence and/or abuse cease their use of these behaviours while maximising the safety of women, young people and children. This role builds respectful and effective relationships with women and program staff to build safety and connect women into appropriate services and supports.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualification in the human services field, and or significant experience in a relevant human services field.
  • Ability to develop rapport, be non-judgemental and provide high level of risk assessment, safety planning, individual and group work, case management to clients.
  • A broad range of knowledge of individual and group therapy interventions,
  • Ability to apply current knowledge of developmental and psychosocial issues to assess clients and refer effectively if deemed necessary,
  • Skills in managing difficult group dynamics and difficult behaviour.
  • A willingness to engage in reflective practice that takes into account a gendered and feminist analysis of behaviours, thoughts and feelings.
