About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Digital Engineer with strong communication skills to work on our road project and form an integral part of our project team. The position will be responsible for implementing the BIM execution plan whilst producing 3D models throughout the project delivery phase, to drive efficiencies, safety and cost effective methods for the project.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Role

  • Construct 3D/4D models using software packages such as Revit, Tekla and 12D.
  • Support the project to ensure BIM is implemented appropriately to achieve best practice deliverables.
  • Ensure monthly project overviews are completed to a consistent and high standard.
  • Support the establishment of the BIM Execution Plan, Protocols, Common Data Environment and federated model for the project.
  • Support the BIM Manager in the delivery of a project specific implementation plan to the project team.
  • Assist in providing appropriate training and support to the project teams in the use of BIM software.
  • Understand the projects DfMA (design for manufacture and assembly) strategy and investigate how BIM can support this.
  • Ensure compliance to the Laing O’Rourke BIM deliverables on the project.
  • Feedback and report on the deployment of BIM in on site delivery to your BIM Manager.
  • Identify and create opportunities to innovate and challenge existing practices.

 

You will have

  • Diploma or Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (with a certificate of completion).
  • An intermediate level of experience in a similar Digital Engineering role, having worked on large scale civil public infrastructure projects in Australia.
  • Proficient with the use of either Tekla, Revit and/or 12D software packages is a must.  
  • Experience in the use of Navisworks software is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels.
  • WA Applicants are preferred.
