At Aurecon we see the future through a very different lens. Do you?

Are you driven by the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and complex projects around the world and to learn from the best? We are.
Diversity is at the core of everything we do. We work together to create a culture based on respect, trust and inclusiveness. Our differences are what fuel our creativity.
We embrace flexible working and are always open to discussing your individual needs so that you get to create your own experience with us.

What will you do?

We have a strong current and prospective order book and hence are seeking an additional Senior Engineer with good experience in flood assessments and mitigation design for projects including major transport infrastructure and dams. You will join the existing Surface Water team (Newcastle and Sydney) to lead flooding components of projects. You will also be able to participate in our growing business in Integrated Water Catchment Management involving our engineering and advisory teams.

You will liaise on projects with our key clients, including TfNSW, Tier 1 contractors, Energy companies, DPIE, Sydney Water, Hunter Water and Water NSW. Our recent projects include Rankin Park to Jesmond - Newcastle Inner City Bypass; Western Sydney Airport Earthworks; Parramatta Light Rail; AGL Power Stations Storages Dam Break Assessments; and Williamtown Special Activation Precinct.

Role can be either Newcastle or Sydney based.

What can you bring to the team?

You are a Senior Engineer with a proven capability in flood modelling projects. You will come to us with:

· Proven experience in delivering flood assessment and mitigation components of transport and other infrastructure projects.

· Technical expertise in hydrology and hydraulics and a passion to develop it in junior engineers.

· Ability to use relevant software including:

  • 1D & 2D flood modelling software - MIKE FLOOD, MIKE 21, MIKE 11, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS
  • Hydrologic modelling software - RAFTS, RORB, URBS
  • GIS, AutoCAD & 12D

· Working knowledge of ARR2019 and TfNSW guidelines

· Aptitude for discipline management including negotiating scope and schedules with major project PMs.

· Commitment to quality control in design delivery to satisfy both Aurecon and client requirements.

· Ability to contribute to bid preparation.

· Collaborative approach with other project disciplines, and delivery teams.

· Good verbal and written communication skills.

· Progression towards or achievement of CP Eng.

Finally, we value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life. Does that sound like you?
