About the Opportunity

Due to a period of rapid growth, MoneyMob Talkabout now has an opportunity for a Financial Capability and NILS Officer to join their team, based in Alice Springs, NT on a full-time fixed term contract to 30 June 2023, with 2 weeks outreach travel per month to various communities within the APY Lands.

Reporting to the Financial Capability Team Leader, you will be responsible for empowering clients, through support and education, to develop long-term skills, knowledge and behaviour to better manage money and make good financial decisions.

About You

To be considered for this position you will need to be a community minded individual who ideally possesses a Certificate III in Community Services or another closely related qualification.

Furthermore, you will have demonstrated experience working in a community service based role, with experience working with Indigenous or immigrant communities an advantage. As a key part of your role is in community education, you must also have strong literacy and numeracy skills, and an ability to engage with local communities, to foster greater service participation.

Please Note: This position requires frequent travel via 4WD vehicle from Alice Springs to APY lands, spending two weeks out of every month away from home. To be eligible for consideration, you must hold a current manual Driver's License. 4WD training will be provided for the successful candidate to be able to drive 4WD vehicles independently on remote roads. Employment will also be subject to a National Police Clearance and Working with Children check.
