We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef and/or Chef de Partie to join us at our venue “The Arsonist”. This venue will ensure your career will be taken to new heights with the innovative concepts around culinary delivery. You will be working in a new state-of-the-art kitchen alongside a vibrant team. You will be part of an established crew of hospitality professionals who deliver customer service excellence, coupled with decadent, delicious food. This position requires a professional approach, an adaptable work speed and the ability to work under pressure. In this role you are expected to work in a manner that promotes effective and harmonious relations with colleagues and other stakeholders.

To be considered for this role you must have met the following criteria: 

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role is considered appropriate training for the position.
  • A passion for the hospitality industry and your career within it.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • A high level of food knowledge.
  • A strong knowledge and commitment to upholding food safety procedures and compliance obligations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, and an ability and willingness to resolve issues with appropriate, creative solutions.
  • Have a passionate motivation to exceed customer expectations through creativity and fresh ideas, balanced with sound practical and financial knowledge of the operation of a successful venue.
  • Demonstrate and expect high standard across the board (in personal appearance, safety, hygiene, work ethic and of course, food preparation and plating).
  • Be very customer-focused.
  • Work well in a team (as well as autonomously).
  • Be friendly, calm and respectful to both BOH and FOH staff.


  • Certificate III in Hospitality
  • Qld Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.
  • Staff training experience
  • A high level of beverage knowledge (including wine and food pairings)
