Everyone at the YNT is dedicated to making a positive community impact in all the work we do. From youth services to recreation and aquatics to before and after school care and child care, we believe in the power of inspired young people. Whether they are in our care, participate in our programs, or work for us, we work to empower young people to be all they can be.
The Educational Leader plays an integral role in mentoring, guiding and supporting early childhood educators in the development of programs reflective of the learning framework and YMCA Children’s Services Philosophy. This is an influential role in inspiring, motivating, affirming and also extending the practice and pedagogy of early year’s staff.
The Second in Charge (2IC) will take a leadership role within the early year’s team and provide additional support to the coordinator of the service, including ensuring compliance with all regulated and organisational requirements. The 2IC will maintain a high quality program for children and young people and ensure a supportive, positive and safe environment for all.
To thrive in the role, you have excellent knowledge of contemporary early childhood practices and demonstrated ability to support and mentor your colleagues. You are skilled at building and maintaining relationships with children, families and stakeholders, and can easily adapt your style to the relevant audience. You have a keen eye for identifying any potential risks, and a proactive approach to mitigating them.
If you believe in the power of inspired young people, enjoy shifting perceptions and helping communities to thrive. If you want to work where every day is a great day for making an impact, then this is the role for you!
