The Opportunity

Join Dulux Decorative Paints in this dynamic opportunity to drive key insight and innovation programs within the business across both consumers and customers. Reporting to the Head of Insight and Innovation, the newly created position of Insights and Innovation Manager is responsible for driving a customer-centric innovation agenda, in close liaison with Brand, R&D, Category & Sales teams.

You will manage and evaluate the ideation pipeline, bringing the best ideas to business cases to create leading-edge and commercially robust 3–5-year horizon innovation plans, aligned to larger trends and overarching Category and Brand strategies. This role will extend beyond validation, leading key breakthrough innovation projects from end-to-end, with support from Brand and R&D teams.

In addition, the role will conduct bespoke and continuous market research programs (with support from one direct report), partnering with external agencies to deliver and translate insights into actionable recommendations on key marketing and business initiatives.

What you will bring and develop

We’re seeking an experienced marketing or insights professional who has a passion for innovation and a natural curiosity for customers and their behaviour. You will be confident in liaising and influencing senior stakeholders and feel at ease in working collaboratively to deliver big outcomes. You will be known as a problem solver, unafraid of trialing new ways to address old problems and create new energy to drive innovation into its next horizon at Dulux.

You’re a strategic thinker, ready to take on the next challenge from your current brand manager role or wanting to expand your horizons beyond market research. You will have experience managing and influencing cross-functional teams, specifically working collaboratively with technical/R&D teams to bring ideas into feasible, viable solutions.

 You will have a strong understanding of brand strategy and portfolio management principles, ideally from a blue-chip FMCG or Consumer goods environment. Exposure to agile and experimentation methodologies is advantageous.

Other key skills and experience include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business/Marketing or similar field
  • 5+ years in either a Brand or Insights focused role, ideally from an FMCG or Consumer Goods background.
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial understanding
  • Sound project management experience
  • Ability to translate insights into a meaningful strategy or business case
  • Demonstrated experience in product or brand development.
