Claims Consultant

As the most experienced specialist niche Strata Insurance Broker in Australia, BCB is seeking a driven and self-motivated person to join the team and assist with the next phase of growth in our Gold Coast office.

This is an opportunity for a Claims Consultant to assist in building the BCB brand. The purpose of the Claims Consultant is to deliver timely and quality service outcomes to our customers. You will be responsible for the pro-active day-to-day management of strata claims, ensuring that claims are handled effectively whilst delivering excellent customer service.

The Claims Consultant must ensure that claims are processed in accordance with policy guidelines, delegated authorities, company procedures and industry laws and guidelines. Additionally, you will actively contribute to the success of the Claims Team and demonstrate behaviour consistent with the BCB DNA to achieve operational targets and objectives.

What does the job entail?

The successful candidate will work with our friendly, experienced QLD Claims team on some of our biggest customer's insurance claims. This is no ordinary claims role working in a call center, you will be part of the BCB team!

Key skills & responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Learning about Strata and the Insurance Industry
  • Creating and developing relationships with people across the insurance and strata industry
  • Developing strong analytical skills through end to end claims management
  • Learning and applying conflict resolution skills
  • Reading and interpreting insurance policies and contracts
  • Working with claims teams across Australia
  • Learning excellent customer service skills
  • Developing strong communication skills
  • Support and develop the BCB brand

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • A background in administration, financial services or insurance
  • Proven time/workload management skills with a track record in delivering tasks within deadlines
  • Ability to anticipate needs and react to regular change without compromising professional demeanour
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and empathetically
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Has the ability to quickly understand new concepts and to thrive in a fast paced work environment
