The opportunity and a bit about us

 

We have an opportunity for an experienced medical-based receptionist and administrator to join our Chatswood  Day Surgery on a fulltime basis. You will be the primary point of contact for people to interact with the hospital and, as such, must have a genuine desire to provide high-quality service to our patients, practitioners and other  stakeholders.    

 

Chatswood Day Surgery is an accredited, purpose-built facility for ophthalmic surgery. The day surgery features state-of-the-art equipment and technology to support the latest surgical techniques, optimise patient outcomes and ensure patient comfort at all times. We operate Monday to Friday – no weekend work is involved. 

 

A bit about you

 

You bring with you previous medical-based reception  experience (day surgery background highly valued), great  customer service, an excellent telephone manner and a high level of computer literacy. You are a team player that can multitask efficiently whilst you ensure the highest level of hospitality for our patients and visitors. 

 

Primary responsibilities include: 
 

  • Interact with patients and visitors in a manner that ensures the highest level of hospitality 

  • Assist with general enquiries and answer telephone calls in a timely, pleasant and professional manner that ensures excellent customer service 

  • General administrative duties involving patient accounts, banking procedures, health fund checks and payments 

  • Utilise the patient management system and other interfaces to capture all relevant patient details, make appointments and prepare and  transmit paperwork and correspondence 

  • Follow protocols for administrative admission of surgical patients 

  • Management of patient records including retrieval, filing and archiving 

  • Maintain the reception area in a clean and tidy state 

  • Flexibility to assist in other administrative functions as required 

 

Please note: COVID vaccination is mandatory for all health workers in NSW (first dose by 30/09/2021, second by 30/11/2021) so will be an essential requirement for this role.
