This position is pivotal for creating solutions, particularly in the Defence and Water Industries across Australia. Your experience and motivation along with your network will see you working autonomously, achieving equipment and service sales whilst building strategic relationships with new and established clients.

This role will suit a highly experienced and driven sales professional who has achieved exceptional results in the project related sectors above. An existing network with Majors and EPCs in Defence or Water Industry executives would be highly regarded.

Your established technical sales knowledge and experience will enable you to execute the key responsibilities of this role, namely:

  • new business development, including strategic planning and pipeline management;
  • achieving individual and company targets by managing a combination of product and services, pricing and margins;
  • key account management;
  • preparation of tenders, quotations and presentations;
  • developing and nurturing customer relationships to convert leads to sales;
  • providing industry feedback to R&D and Design Engineers to strengthen ongoing product development.

To be successful in this role your key skills and competencies will include: 

  • Electrical Engineering Degree or Degree/ Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Technology
  • strong technical knowledge in instrumentation, control systems and advanced control systems;
  • minimum 3 years in technical sales,
  • extensive experience in preparation of quotes and tenders, follow-up and proven success in closing sales based on solid commercial acumen;
  • a demonstrated positive, driven, self-starter with a can-do attitude;
  • excellent planning and time management skills along with exceptional presentation and communication skills;
  • experience in the use of sales tracking/CRM Systems.

This role requires the incumbent to commit to a travel component of 50% minimum to ensure appropriate relationship management of existing and potential customers both in SA and interstate.
