The opportunity and a bit about us
We have an opportunity for a CSSD Instrument Technician to join our passionate team at Footscray Day Surgery. We are open to either permanent part-time (a minimum of 16 hours per fortnight) or casual, with Wednesdays and Thursdays being key days. We seek flexible candidates as there are generally more hours available depending on the schedule and the roster.
Footscray Day Surgery is an accredited, purpose-built facility for ophthalmic surgery. The day surgery features state-of-the-art equipment and technology to support the latest surgical techniques, optimise patient outcomes and ensure patient comfort at all times.
In your role, you would be responsible for delivering exceptional technical skills within the Sterilisation Department, ensuring compliance with AS/NZ 4187 and to act in accordance with OHS requirements.
A bit about you
You bring with you a Certification 4 in Sterilisation and CSSD experience. You can demonstrate knowledge of the Department of Health Guidelines, Standards and Regulations, OHS, Infection Control and their impact on delivery of care.
You are passionate team player who can also work autonomously. You’ll have strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, a focus on compliance and a commitment to quality, best practice and workplace safety.
You’ll have experience in:
Cleaning and packing of all instruments and equipment required for use by the Day Surgery
Maintaining instrumentation and equipment according to the manufacturers’ recommendations/guidelines
Maintaining, validating and calibrating equipment through structured maintenance agreements
Sterilisation of instrumentation and equipment
Delivering effective communication with the surgical team to ensure sterilised instruments are available on time for each theatre case
Validation of sterilisers and maintaining accurate and up to date records of all sterilisers according to AS/NZ 4187 and State Health Department requirements
