The Role

We are seeking someone to join our growing team on a permanent, part time basis. Working three days per week (Wednesday, Friday and Saturday), this role would suit a person who loves horse racing, sports and wagering and has strong administration and data entry skills. This role is responsible for monitoring racing events and entering key race day information into our database. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail as they will be responsible for checking the information is accurate and free from errors. 

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Entering race day data such as track conditions, start and finish times, scratchings and other data as required.
  • Ensuring that data entered is accurate and free from errors.
  • Liaising with colleagues as necessary.

What you’ll need to excel

A positive attitude, genuine interest in horse racing, sports and wagering, good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement are essential for success in this role. Experience working in a similar role (ie for the TAB) will be highly regarded.

You will also possess strong general IT skills (MS Office and database applications) and the ability to pick up administrative processes quickly. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work productively and collaboratively in a team environment and the ability to perform well under pressure are also essential for this role. 

This position is located in Canberra and it is expected that the successful candidate will work exclusively for Racing and Sports.  

The salary negotiated with the successful candidate will be commensurate with skills and experience and the requirements of the role.
