Business Growth and Performance Manager

We are a market leading mining and construction equipment business currently servicing a range of customers across Australia. With the intent of expanding our operational footprint throughout Australia and New Zealand, we are seeking a highly capable professional to lead a new growth trajectory in NSW, ACT, WA and New Zealand. 

As the Business Growth and Performance Manager, you will be accountable for identifying sales opportunities and devising a strategic business growth strategy to ensure timely conversion of leads in these new market territories. This position reports to the Executive Leadership Team and the preferred applicant has the option of either a Sydney or Newcastle location.  

In addition to championing the growth and sales performance aspects of the business, you will also be accountable for operational performance and embedding systems and processes in alignment with the strategic business growth strategy. You will establish a dealer network operating systems and financial systems to purchase, store and distribute material processing products to target markets.

The role will be accountable for growing sales and growing the business from scratch, requiring a solid and proven capability in the social, technical and commercial elements of business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up financial and operational systems and processes
  • Establish dealer networks and relationships to encourage and drive sales growth across broad geographic markets
  • Create and execute on marketing and sales plans through dealer network
  • Drive the sale of material processing equipment to both new and existing customers within Australia and New Zealand and expand market share as you build and maintain strong relationships
  • Utilise your business development capabilities as you regularly interact with your dealer network to get product and market feedback
  • Identify and develop market opportunities to maintain a strong sales funnel
  • Utilise CRM interface to proactively manage customers and sales/business opportunities and regularly report on key business activity and trends
  • Build a team of subject matter experts who can assist dealers and customers in asset application, technical support, service support and training
  • Monitor industry trends to meet both current and future customer requirements, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Act as a role model in areas of HSE, quality and the promotion of policies and procedures

About You 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or work experience which prove a good understanding of commercial decision making
  • Good background knowledge of industrial products through either the distribution or use of them
  • Proven track record in building teams and team culture
  • Demonstrated capability in sales and/or business development
  • Intermediate computer skills and previous CRM experience an advantage
  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to engage and influence others in achieving business outcomes
