Graduate Project Engineer

Zinfra partners with companies across the utility and infrastructure sectors to deliver maintenance, operations, engineering, and construction services. For our partners our work is essential to maintaining the safety and reliability of their electricity and gas transmission and distribution assets.
About the role:
Zinfra are currently recruiting two graduates, to work within our Power Projects business unit, as part of our 2022 graduate program intake.
The Zinfra Graduate Development program is designed to broaden the skills, knowledge and competencies of graduates across multiple disciplines over a 2 year period. With the ability to transition into a permanent Project Engineering role within the Power Projects business unitat the end of the program.
The Graduate Engineer will provide technical support to both pre-contract and project delivery teams throughout the lifecycle of the project under the guidance of experienced personnel via job rotations.
The rotation schedule will see the two graduates being developed across four key areas in six month rotations including:
Pre-contract Services – Estimation
Pre-contract Services – Proposal Management
Project Delivery Services – Support
Project Delivery Services – Delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide technical support to the Proposal and Delivery Teams throughout the lifecycle of the project under the guidance of experienced personnel.
- Support estimation, risk management and schedule development for proposals
- Support the establishment of pre contract deliverables including; Design Basis Estimate, Scope of Works, technical specifications and delivery program
- Participate in the Sales Lifecycle Management Process (including the interface with Salesforce) and Governance
- Participate and contribute to project establishment and delivery activities and tasks in key areas including; Project Management, Risk Management, Cost and Time Management, Subcontractor Management, Stakeholder Management, Contract Management, Client Management, Procurement Management, HSEQ Management
- Provide on and off site engineering support to project delivery teams
To be successful in attaining this position you will have a tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline.
You will be a team player with high level communication skills, a strong work ethic, initiative and curiosity to ask questions and learn on the job. The successful candidate will also possess high personal organisation and time management skills, be gifted problem solvers with the ability to manage and adapt to change.
Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft suite of applications including word and excel are required with experience using MS Project highly regarded.
