About the Position
The ALS Water Laboratory located at the Melbourne Water Eastern Treatment Plant in Carrum, Victoria is seeking a Full Time Sampler to join their Sampling Team. The successful candidate will receive on the job training and support.  
 
This position will be 6:00 am to 1:36 pm, Monday to Friday.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Hands on role, requiring teamwork, reliability, and initiative.
  • Learning sampling sites and wastewater sampling techniques of the Melbourne Water ETP Site.Organising daily Sampling tasks.
  • Adhering to the site and ALS safety requirements.
  • Learn the contract requirements for service delivery to the client.
  • Ensure the quality of work is maintained at the level set out in the ALS Quality Work Instructions.
  • All field documents, COC's check sheets are neat and legible for auditing and traceability purposes.
  • Maintain sampling equipment.
  • Calibration of sampling instruments where applicable.
  • Conduct additional sampling as required by the onsite customer.
  • Delivery of samples to ALS Scoresby Laboratory as required.
  • Training in some basic laboratory methods.
  • Other duties as required.
About you
The ideal candidate would have the following attributes:
  • Previous experience working at a high-risk site desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of and adherence to HSE principles and practices.
  • Physically fit with a desire for having a hands-on role.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new skills.Enjoy working outdoors.
  • Confident driver with a good driving record.
  • A current Victorian driver's license.
