About Rivet Mining Services: Bulk Haulage & Ancillary Onsite Services
We provide bulk haulage and ancillary onsite service services (such as road construction and maintenance operations) to mining companies operating in the key resource producing regions of WA.  Services primarily comprise truck haulage across off-road and on-road (highway) routes from mine to port facilities and/or processing infrastructure.
  
Whilst our primary commodities are iron ore and gold, our expanded footprint provides us with an opportunity to create new geographical hubs (regional expansion) by acquiring new customers in existing geographies (building on existing capability) whilst retaining and growing our current customers.
  
Our operating structure provides us with the ability to diversify our offering (commodity, customer, geography) as we now can partner and offer additional value-added services such as fuels, road maintenance and stockpile management.

Due to recent growth and new projects we are adding to our Finance team and recruiting for a Part Qualified Assistant Accountant. The purpose of the Assistant Accountant is to Support the Finance Department, Financial & Management Accountant and Management team by completing routine clerical and accounting tasks. 

Reporting to the Divisional General Manager of Finance the duties of the role will include but not limited to:
  • Weekly and Monthly revenue & Volume reporting
  • Reconciliation of subcontractor spend
  • Reporting of Business metrics and KPI’s
  • Variance analysis around monthly profit and loss
  • Assisting in the preparation of Monthly Management Reports
  • Fuel Reconciliation
  • Month End Journal preparation and entry
  • Assist in the maintenance of Fixed Asset System
  • Prepare and present monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of budget and forecasts
The successful applicant will have:
  • Accounting/Finance Degree
  • Part Qualified CA or CPA
  • Proficient in Accounting Software
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong Problem solving and Analytical skills
  • Effective planning and organising skills for scheduling work according to priority and performance requirements
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to troubleshoot
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability to take up additional duties and respond to changing needs of workflow demand
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills for analysing workplace performance and implementing solutions to address barriers, errors, and anomalies
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), finance management and intranet system
  • Ability to work independently, and with the entire organisational work group
  • Attention to detail and accurate reconciliation skills.
  • Maintain a positive approach to the work environment and remain resilient under pressure
