The Position - Short Description

Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies are looking to appoint a motivated Business Development Manager to oversee our strategic growth in Victoria and Tasmania. Due to unprecedented growth in Australia and Globally, we are seeking an experienced BDM who is self-motivated, and is willing to travel within both states. You will revel in the challenges of taking an innovative New Generation Building materials product to the market.

About the role

As the face of the company in Victoria/Tasmania you will have the ability to create and apply an effective sales strategy. The role encompasses business development through forging strong relationships with existing clients while seeking out new opportunities from a wide range of potential customers. The goal is to drive sustainable growth through enhancing our presence in the market, the increased sales will establish the company as the premium solution in the outdoor Infrastructure market.  

Responsibilities

  • Management of the business development within Victorian/Tasmanian in both the Custom Build and Power Industry divisions
  • Actively identify business opportunities within Victorian/Tasmania
  • Identifying and qualifying / quantifying leads
  • Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Presentations to the engineering fraternity to assist in growing the products acceptance and establish specification in projects
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Assist in Project Contract Negotiations, ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
  • Using the companies CRM maintain contacts and records of enquiries, sales and pipeline etc.
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
  • Report on a regular basis to the national manager, new opportunities, customer engagement, developments within the engineeringmarkets, as well as market intel from the customer base and opposition developments and movements
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs when required
  • The territory encompasses Victoria and Tasmania so travel is a prerequisite within the prescribed territory, plus some travel within other Australian states and overseas for meetings will be as required.

Skills and Experience / Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Local Council, State and Federal Government construction market, along with the General Civil construction market, and an understanding of the contract and tendering processes
  • Construction and engineering knowledge or background will be highly regarded
  • A Mechanical aptitude is essential
  • Sales and BDM experience in engineering civil/structural products
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively within VIC and TAS or as requested
  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role with a preference for products and services in the civil and structural engineering fields.
  • Proven sales track record
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Proven communication and negotiation skills
  • Time management and planning skills
