What you will do

  • Help us build new features into our real-time classroom and asynchronous writing feedback service. We work with thousands of students every day with our software stack consisting of Ruby on Rails, React, ES6, CoffeeScript and HAML along with EventMachine, NodeJS and web sockets. 
  • You’ll add automated tests to our 20k+ test suite written with RSpec, Capybara, Selenium and Jasmine to be run through our continuous integration system before being deployed.
  • You’ll follow a pull request based workflow making sure each change passes the automated test suite and is peer reviewed before going out into the world.

How do you know if this is for you?


  • 5 years of professional software development experience
  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails
  • Demonstrated participation in a development team environment
  • Any relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications would be highly desirable 
  • Good English communication skills


  • Ruby on Rails, React, JS frameworks
  • Utilise secure coding techniques
  • Determination to develop the right solution
  • Writing automated tests with your development work
  • Ability and willingness to assist other members of the team
