Senior Leader of the Strategy and Performance Section at the City of Port Adelaide Enfield which will drive organisational performance and achievements against  Council’s City Plan.

Role Overview

This role represents a exciting senior leadership opportunity to drive the development of innovation and continuous improvement capabilities across Council while maintaining a community focus. Providing business critical advice to the Executive, Elected Body, and Senior Management, the Manager, Strategy & Performance will lead a Department encompassing Risk, Governance, Strategy & Data Analytics, and Project Management to ensure effective delivery of Council’s Vision. This role will also involve:


  • Ensuring that Council’s long-term City Plan is integrated and strategic while seeking to deliver best outcomes for the broader community
  • Operating across the organisation to ensure continuous improvement through service reviews and data backed decision-making
  • Leading and fostering a culture of innovation through effective employee engagement and development
  • Supporting a high performing organisation and culture of accountability through quality project management and performance metrics
  • Applying contemporary risk and governance frameworks to build organisation resilience and integrity
  • Building effective relationships with stakeholders and partners both internally and externally
  • As a member of the Senior Leadership Group provide organisational wide leadership that models the City of PAE’s values.


About the Person

You will be an exceptional leader with experience in managing a diverse portfolio of functions from complex, multi-faceted private or public sector environments. This role will particularly suit a future-focused leader who is passionate about building performance capability. Leaders with a track record of delivering change initiatives will be highly regarded with the ideal candidate also possessing:


  • Demonstrated leadership in the application of continuous improvement principles
  • Innovative, agile and dynamic approach to issues and challenges
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Inspirational and transformational leadership skills which motivate and engage people
  • Passion for delivering to the community
  • Strong political and business acumen
