About us

Aurelia Metals Limited (ASX: AMI) is an Australian mining and exploration company with a highly strategic landholding and three operating gold mines in New South Wales. The Peak and Hera Mines are located in the Cobar Basin in western NSW, and the Dargues Mine is in south-eastern NSW. With dual high-grade discoveries at the Federation and Kairos deposits, Aurelia has an enviable record of recent exploration success.

The Site and Location

Our Peak operation is located within driving distance from Cobar. The mine has an 800,000 tonnes per year gold and base metals processing plant. The plant is supplied with high grade ore from multiple underground mining areas utilising open stop underground mining methods with backfill.

Cobar is a historical mining town in the centre of New South Wales approximately two-thirds the size of Tasmania. The town is home to approximately 4,647 people and well connected via road, rail and air links to most of Australia's capital cities.

The town's lively main street offers two Supa IGAs, Harvey Norman and a range of homeware and gift shops. Entertainment options include restaurants, pubs and clubs for dining out. Sports fans will also be kept busy with a bowling and golf club, rugby and rugby league teams, race club, pony club, Olympic size swimming pool, gym – and more!

For families, Cobar offers family day care, preschool, public and private primary schools and a public high school. There is also a new TAFE campus currently under construction. The town boasts beautiful parks, picnic areas and playgrounds. The youth club 'Youthie' is a vibrant children’s hub with a games room, gym and weights room, squash courts, sauna, indoor stadium, outdoor basketball court and a skate park.

The roster for this position is 8 days on, 6 days off. While our preference is for employees to be based residentially in Cobar, a fly in, fly out or drive in, drive out (depending on your point of hire), arrangement will be considered to attract exceptional candidates.

Subsidised company housing is offered for employees relocating to Cobar. For those commuting, accommodation is provided in town during your roster.
