About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Inventory and Supply Chain Manager must be a dynamic, energized and most importantly, experienced person who specializes in inventory management and supply chain logistics, for a precision mechatronic systems manufacturing environment. You will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, management, and distribution of components, assemblies, and our finished products. Additionally, you will have the responsibility to manage supplier relations that includes providing forecasts to suppliers, periodic inquiries on component delivery timelines, and other aspects of supplier management, as well as supplier qualifications.
You will be tasked with managing various supply chain procedures, coordinating deliveries, managing shipping documentation, and ensuring that all administrative functions of the inventory/logistics department areas are executed with the highest level of accuracy and speed.
To be successful in this role, you will be well-organized and understand inventory management as well as the supply chain cycle, all whilst providing the highest level of customer service to ensure customers receive the right orders on time.
Document daily deliveries and shipments to update inventory.
Reading and using design drawings and following standard practices to ensure product specifications are met through incoming inspection. Assist in the incoming inspection process to including the identification, reporting, and managing of non-conformances.
Process and print pick lists, shipment documentation, and other paperwork to ensure the timely and accurate dispatching and receiving of goods. Assist in the kitting of parts for use in manufacturing.
Ensure that all necessary export permits have been obtained and accurate, and that shipments are dispatched in compliance with all export controls and/or permit terms and conditions.
Adhere to all security and export control requirements when storing, handling, and transferring products and information.
Research shipping related queries and work closely with couriers and freight forwarders to gather all necessary data.
Assist with customs clearance process of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Manage all freight bookings with domestic and international shipments.
Manage all stock data in the AVT Australia ERP system, as well as physical inventory tracking of parts, lots, and batches.
Implement and maintain customer and supplier delivery reports.
Generate weekly/monthly inventory/warehouse reports (inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments) as needed.
Ensure customer and supplier required documentation is scanned and forwarded to them in a timely fashion, as well as documented and stored.
Receive and support the processing and tracking of a product returned under the RMA process.
Assist with inventory investigative tasks as well as become a key resource for stocktake & cycle counting, etc.
Work with the Purchasing Coordinator to identify suppliers who can deliver needed materials on time and at an appropriate quality level and price to maintain adequate stock levels.
Assist in the QMS Supplier Qualification and Evaluation Process.
Using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling and packaging equipment while performing duties.
Pack products to meet technical and contractual packing and labelling requirements.
Understanding and adherence to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) process and procedures and 5S principles.
Contribute to process reviews and continuous improvement activities.
Other duties as required by the business.
Essential qualifications and experience:
Certificate level qualifications in Inventory and/or Supply Chain Management or significant demonstrable experience in like discipline(s).
Demonstrable 4+ years’ experience in a Logistics, Inventory, and/or Supply Chain role.
Minimum of 3 years’ direct experience in inventory management using ERP systems.
Able to clearly explain, orally and/or written, any issues encountered during procedure execution and work with appropriate individuals to solve the problem.
Able to work under pressure and multitask priorities.
Able to build and manage credible and productive internal and external working relationships.
Safely lift and move 25kg containers of material.
Able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where requirements may frequently change.
Able to self-motivate and self-manage while working in a dynamic environment.
Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniques including the ability to use MS 365 suite of products.
Superior skills in planning, organisation, implementation, and analysis and reporting.
Valid manual driver licence.
Experience with SAP ERP Systems is desirable.
Exposure to defence products or aerospace industries.
Exposure to Defence Export Controls.
