 About the Role

This role will be based at our Ayr site.

This is an exciting opportunity, and you will be joining a dynamic team working with world class algal cultivation and plant juice / aquafeed procedures and equipment in a one-of-a-kind facility in Australia. You will learn how to run a complex automated system and will be exposed to industrial production practices such as process and quality control.

Duties include but will not be limited to:

  • Algae husbandry and harvest.
  • Green house activities such as handling harvested algae, drying processes, basic laboratorial analysis, and sampling for quality control.
  • Algae processing including operating a mill in a timely manner, to ensure the algae flow is consistent and product is ready to be cooked and dispatched when required.
  • Plant juice cooking, including chemical handling and a degree of manual lifting.
  • Maintaining site equipment as directed and providing continual process improvements to ensure plant is operating at an optimum level.
  • Use of specialised machinery such as centrifuges, filtration systems and pumps.
  • Data entry and data analysis.
  • Logistics and stocktake, guaranteeing a production flow focusing on meeting sales schedules.
  • Generation of reports.

About You

Part of a small but dedicated team, you will embrace working outdoors, be highly motivated and reliable. Attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to observe, identify, interpret, and troubleshoot data and different scenarios are essential. A results driven mentality and organizational skills are also fundamental, accompanied by proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Excel. Previous experience with live-stock or aquaculture is preferable. A forklift ticket is highly desired.

We look forward to hearing from enthusiastic and motivated people looking for a great career in Australian aquaculture.
