Job description:

The Role


Sitting within the Strategy, Innovation & Underwriting division, the purpose of the role and your unique contribution is to develop deep expertise on the contextual, transactional and internal environments by developing evidenced based research on macro trends and the competitive environment as they impact IAG to deliver insights and recommendations on key strategic risks and opportunities.
 
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide research and analysis to support the deliverables of the Strategic Insights team, including competitor and macro-environment reporting to senior stakeholders across the organisation, as well as long-term trends research and topical deep-dive insights.
  • Contribute to the final creation and dissemination of these reports and other insights material.
  • Source and utilise essential external information sources and engage and collaborate with internal subject matter experts to extract key insights and form a position on the implications for the organisation
  • Maintain an informed perspective on the implications for IAG of medium to long term key trends, competitive threats and opportunities, including how they will influence IAG’s strategic choices
     
     

Skills & Experience
 
•    3 - 5 years experience (prior experience in strategy or consulting preferred)
•    Strong analytical skills, with structured problem-solving capability and experience
•    Strong research and written communication skills, as well as a sound understanding of the external macro environment
•    Strong financial acumen and quantitative skills
•    Experience in effective presentation tools and techniques, and able to summarise complex topics in common non-technical terms
•    Experience working collaboratively across different business units
•    Experience in stakeholder management
•    Prior experience in economic, competition or trends reporting; and/or insurance/customer led/innovation teams will be highly regarded
