Cylite is an exciting high-tech startup company developing cutting-edge 3D optical imaging instruments for applications in ophthalmology and optometry. 

The company is based in Melbourne, Australia, adjacent to the Monash University Science and Technology Precinct, and is a winner of multiple industry awards. 

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with all-round skills in commercial C++ desktop application development to join our enthusiastic, talented, and collaborative team. 

 

About the role:

The successful applicant will join the growing Cylite Software Engineering team developing multi-platform application software to: 

  • Develop high-quality, robust, desktop software for the control of Cylite instruments.
  • Work on 2D & 3D visualisation of clinical datasets.
  • Design, develop, and maintain code throughout the whole SDLC according to IEC-62304 and other applicable standards.
  • Work on clinical software for a worldwide market with great scope for impact.
  • Collaborate within a team of highly skilled specialists in embedded systems, electronics, and optics.

About you:

A solid background in commercial C++ development is essential, as is experience in delivering products to market, and you will need to demonstrate: 

  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Principles of Software Engineering and best practices 
  • Understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle 

The ideal candidate would also have experience with scientific software, including the Visualization Toolkit (VTK) and the Insight Toolkit (ITK) libraries. 

Required Skills: 

  • Modern C++, GUI, and Multi-platform development (Windows, Linux), Python, Concurrent programming.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • VTK, OpenGL, ITK, SWIG, SciPy, TCP/IP networking, IEC-62304 Experience.
