The Launceston Chamber of Commerce is the leading independent voice for business in the greater Launceston region, supporting our members in their quest to be innovative, globally competitive and sustainable. The Chamber’s goal is for Launceston to be one of the great regional cities of the world and a region of choice for people to live, work and invest.

 

We are seeking a dynamic and highly capable Executive Officer to lead a small team in delivering our strategic plan and, in doing so, ensure the highest quality of service for our members. Reporting to the President and the Board, the EO will further develop the escalating profile of the Chamber as a credible independent voice for business in the Launceston region. 

 

The Chamber is a member-based organisation, the EO will grow, strengthen and represent an engaged membership base. The EO will develop positive stakeholder relationships with all levels of government and other key stakeholders, actively contribute to the process of regional economic development, effectively lobby on key issues on behalf of our members, as well as prudently managing the resources of the Chamber.

 

To be successful in securing this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate a capability to understand regional economic development and to further the interests of local business. You will also need experience in advocacy.  You will demonstrate sound leadership and management skills, strategic thinking and planning capability, excellent communication and engagement skills, as well as a very strong customer centric approach. 

 

Most essential is the ability to capably represent the Chamber and the Northern Tasmania region as required.
