The organization is an innovative and progressive homewares wholesaler offering a range of high-quality products, including artificial botanicals and trees, furniture, décor, architectural lighting, marble accents, Christmas decorations, and home fragrances. Established in 1980's and the current owners have been involved for more than 15 years.
With significant recent success with the business and a future growth plan in mind, the organization requires a passionate, energetic and enthusiastic General Manager with extensive wholesale industry knowledge. The company is based in Alexandria, Sydney, with onsite parking available.
The newly created General Manager position, which reports directly to the owners, is accountable for the company's ongoing profitability and a satisfactory rate of return on investment. An eye for always conducting business with appropriate governance, providing a stimulating and rewarding work environment for all staff, and providing customers with exceptional standards of product and service.
This is an exciting opportunity to identify further and secure areas of business growth within Australia and New Zealand by increasing their market share. The role will include sales management, marketing, sales, financial management, product development, buying and customer operations. This person will be tasked with developing the business and marketing plans, analyzing the customer database for selling opportunities; investigating opportunities to reduce costs, increase sales and improve efficiencies; leading and motivating all staff members by example through mentoring and ongoing performance reviews.
The ideal candidate will have significant insights into the ANZ homewares and wholesale markets, with excellent industry knowledge and a genuine passion within this exciting space. This person should have the ability to manage a complex business with many parts and grow the business without affecting the current product segments.
Currently, in a management position within the broader retail or wholesale industry, the ideal candidate will likely have amassed over 7 years of experience in the homewares, lighting or furniture industry. This person will display a passion for the sector and motivation to grow a business with multiple product lines.
This individual will be commercially astute and comfortable with financial information and managing budgets with the ability to draw informed insights from data to shape business strategy. The ability to deliver on profitability targets and grow a successful homewares wholesale business through a tried and tested successful approach to managing people and processes will be essential to the success of this individual in this role.
The ideal candidate will be an exceptionally driven person seeking a leadership role in a successful growing business. A high degree of intellect and emotional intelligence, in addition to confidence in their commercial judgement and decision-making, will ensure this individual successfully provides clear direction to all internal and external stakeholders.
