The company provides contract staffing and human resources outsourcing services to a range of key industries including community services, childcare, healthcare, nursing, IT, blue collar and hospitality.

AWX is looking for farm workers for one of our clients on the Sunshine Coast. Commencement date is late February 2022 with multiple roles available – Crop Work/Picking/Packing/Maintenance/Cleaning.

 

These Roles Involve: 

  • Caring for tomato plants (leafing, pollinating, twisting, lowering, grafting)
  • Working in large Glasshouses with high humidity and warm temperatures (up to 30 degrees)
  • Standing or walking for 8 hours per shift, with breaks
  • Repetitive low muscle load movement of hands, wrists, arms, elbows, shoulder, neck
  • Working at heights (depending on position) 
  • Shifts can be rostered between Monday to Sunday
  • Picking and packing
  • Nursery hand

Successful Candidates Must:

  • Have access to reliable transport to and from the work site
  • Be available to start morning shifts 6am to 8am – weather dependent
  • Be physically fit with the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Standing for long periods of time, carrying up to 20kg throughout the day and working on ladders
  • Be able to work in a warm and humid environment (crop and picking roles)
  • Have an understanding of English (written and spoken)
  • Be flexible and reliable
  • Work cooperatively and respectfully in a multicultural workforce
  • Have a strong focus and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Personal Hygiene
  • Current contactable references on resume

The Opportunity:

  • Pay - $20.33 - $21.52 hourly under the Horticulture Award 2020 - Level 1 - 3         
  • Permanent part-time positions (minimum 30hrs per week)
  • Monday – Friday – 7am -1pm
  • 10 roles available
