I Am Company, with our manufacturing facility located in Alphington, Victoria, focuses on sourcing from Australian producers and suppliers to ensure we can procure as many of our ingredients from within our great Australian landscape, with over 85% of our ingredients domestically sourced.
The company is at a juncture that will maximise distribution, availability, and engage with a cross-section of consumers.
We are currently seeking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join our team in Kew, VIC. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is responsible for providing accounting and administration support throughout the organisation. Specific functions include Accounts Receivable and Payable, Payroll, and general administrative support.
Day-to-day Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll delivery.
Responsible for checking supplier invoices for pricing, coding, limits, authority, and validity. Follow up queries with supplier and employees;
Data entry of supplier invoices and expense claims into the Accounting System in a timely manner and reconciliation of all supplier accounts;
Create and maintain a payment inquiry summary and communicate this to the Financial Controller;
Maintain and reconcile petty cash, daily bank reconciliation, reconcile supplier statements.
Act as the liaison point in relation to accounts management issues.
Maintain a proper filing system for all transactions, for auditing and accounting purposes (AP).
Follow up on overdue accounts, preparation of BAS
Assisting with the preparation of Month End Accounts
Liaise with clients, customers, suppliers, staff and managers
The ideal candidate will be recently tertiary qualified in accounting.
2 - 3 years of professional experience as well as basic knowledge of accounting standards.
Aspirations to complete or already started your CPA/CA.
Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to demonstrate initiative, are essential.
The willingness to learn and develop your accounting skills, as well as good attention to detail is a must for all successful candidates.
Your experience will ideally be within a small to medium environment with exposure to Australian tax compliance and payroll.
