Luerssen Australia is a subsidiary of Lürssen, a 4th generation family-owned German company that builds Naval defence vessels and luxury yachts from its nine shipyards across Northern Germany.

 

Luerssen Australia is engaged as the prime contractor to build 12 Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Department of Defence over a 12 year period. 

 

The successful applicant will be required to undergo the Australian Defence Force Security Clearance process, of which a minimum requirement is Australian Citizenship.

 

This is a 12 month opportunity with a chance of extension.

 

The Role and responsibilities

This role is responsible for providing support to the HR Department.

This will include admin tasks associated with recruitment, employee contracts and onboarding administration, organisational development (including org charts and Role Descriptions) employee mobility and generalist HR admin tasks. 

  • Coordinating subcontractor and consultant pre-engagement mobilisation requirement process and to ensure efficient onboarding process.
  • Supporting Talent Acquisition Specialists in recruitment related admin activities
  • Providing admin support with new employee onboarding.
  • Maintaining current employee files
  • Providing administration support for employee relocation activities, including planned workforce relocation from Adelaide to Perth and international relocations for expatriates.
  • Completing Covid related travel requirements for employees including G2G passes and other border entry requirements and scheduling of Covid antibody testing (where relevant).
  • Additional HR admin adhoc duties for HR team as requested

 

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an HR Admin role - ideally 1-2 years minimum
  • Experience in supporting mobilisation activities - highly regarded
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • High level of personal motivation and desire to provide a high level of support to enable the HR team and company to succeed
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to be proactive and take initiative
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • A can do attitude and willingness to get the job done
