We are currently seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our team based in Tullamarine. This is a permanent full-time position reporting to the General Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed, hands-on, experienced HR Generalist.

Key Responsibilities include;

  • End to end recruitment processes (including onboarding)
  • Creating contracts and HR documentation as required
  • Managing and updating the mandatory training register
  • Coach business line managers in relation to people management
  • Support the Performance Appraisal process as and when required
  • Update and create policies & procedures – providing best practice suggestions
  • Manage all compliance requirements including supporting Return to work requirements
  • Provide sound HR advice on employment conditions and other processes undertaken by the business with respect to employee relations
  • Assist with employee performance management matters including conducting investigations & disciplinary action
  • Perform exit interviews and support the exit process for terminating employees

Qualification and Competencies

The successful candidate will ideally have a background in a medium sized construction company and/or and previous experience in a similar role. Ideally have previous generalist experience in a HR Advisor Admin role with a transactional focus.  

  • Tertiary qualification in HRM or related field
  • Must have the ability to interpret Awards and provide IR advice
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel & word software package
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • An excellent work ethic and mindset
  • Must have 3 - 5 years previous experience in a similar role
