The Opportunity:

You will play a vital part in the development and implementation of a world leading Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Strategy. 

This role is to support the environmental sustainability workstream for Harvest Road Group as we strive to cause zero harm to any part of the environment from our operations. 

As part of Harvest Road Groups commitment to environmental sustainability this role will work closely with all business pillars to roll out sustainability improvement activity with a focus on sustainable packaging and manufacturing waste.

The role will assist to develop a management control & reporting system to effectively measure sustainability performance across the group, setting baselines, targets and tracking actuals with the use of a clear reporting suite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist to develop, implement, and monitor environmental and sustainability strategy, packaging and waste initiatives and targets across HRG and partners.
  • Assist to develop the Environmental Management System and in line with packaging and waste accreditation requirements
  • Application and management of environmental sustainability packaging and waste accreditations.
  • Understanding of the commercial packaging and waste ESG space and competitors’ interactions
  • Synthesise volumes of information for leadership team and other key stakeholders
  • Understanding of funding and grant opportunities relating to environmental sustainability and leading the application process when applicable
  • Assist to develop and manage a management control and reporting system to track sustainability performance across the group

What we are looking for:


  • Tertiary qualified in Science, Manufacturing, Engineering or other related disciplines


  • Expertise in sustainable packaging and/or waste
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams, both internally and externally
  • Ability to undertake multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated track record of project management and delivery of sustainability across a wide range of assets
  • An understanding of environmental sustainability accreditation
  • Must have a passion for ESG

Desired Skills:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in sustainable manufacturing
  • Experience in the agri-food industry
  • Understanding of the commercial ESG space and competitors interactions
  • An understanding of environmental sustainability accreditation
