About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Administration Officer to join our busy team. In this role, you will make a valuable contribution to the operations of the department through the provision of quality customer service and administration tasks related to processing and determining development applications and construction certificates. You will also provide administrative support to the functions of building certification and fire safety services. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation of correspondence, database and electronic file maintenance, typing certificates, production of determination documents, and response to customer enquiries. As a department managing a program of continuous improvement and digital enhancement, opportunities to assist on change programs may also be presented. An eligibility list will be created from this recruitment and may be used for further administrative opportunities within Penrith City Council.

Essential Criteria

  • A tertiary qualification in administration or relevant field and/or sound experience in administrative support duties
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills and strong team focus
  • High-level customer service experience
  • Excellent computer literacy, in particular, experience with Microsoft products
  • Effective organisation and time management skills
  • Proven capacity for problem-solving

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience using systems relevant to administration support for development approvals and certification services
  • Practical knowledge of the NSW Planning Portal
  • An understanding of the functions and role of local government

Commencing Salary: $61,291.00 per annum, plus 10% Superannuation.
