  • Great perks (profit share and 4-day-week)
  • Tell us your story and win a weekend to the coast

If you love all things people and leadership, want to work with a variety of great small businesses, and have a real knack for practical problem solving in the HR/IR space, we think this could be a perfect match.

Focus HR is a multi-award-winning business-to-business consultancy specialising in people, leadership and strategy for small to medium businesses. And we know that we are unique in our approach to helping our clients – combining compliance, practicality and innovation to find the win-win.

Our team operates on a genuine 4-day-week (that’s 100% productivity, achieved in 80% of the time, for 100% of the pay – yes we’ve proven it works!); we also offer fantastic employee benefits including a profit share system.

We have an opening for an experienced professional to assist us in providing exceptional, pragmatic and innovative advice to our clients.

Working in a team of people, leadership and strategy experts, you will be involved in:

  • Coaching diverse managers and leaders in great people practices
  • Delivering leadership training and workshops
  • Providing IR/ER advice to clients for things such as grievances, performance management, and Fair Work claims
  • Providing detailed and practical advice and reports on complex issues
  • Assisting in workplace investigations
  • Assisting clients access compliant, quality tools and templates from the Focus HR library

One of our values is ‘we will only be part of stories we are proud to tell’ which means we work with clients who have a positive intent at heart – this means working with good employers who value your expertise as a professional. You also get to apply genuine heart and balance in helping our clients navigate difficult situations.

This role will suit someone with demonstrated experience in the people and leadership field; a willingness to share knowledge with the team; and an ability to translate complex information and legislation into practical speak.

To fit our team, you will need to be willing to learn and teach; to challenge and be challenged; make real connections; and be naturally curious with an innate ability to problem solve with supreme practicality.

If you are still curious, visit and click on ‘Meet us’ or ring Naomi Wilson on 0400 543 566.

If this sounds like the kind of role that you would get a kick out of and a team that you would like to be a part of, apply now and come and interview us.

As part of getting to know you, we want to understand how your HR brain ticks.  So along with your resume, please send us a brief (no longer than a page) story of a challenging IR/HR situation you’ve handled that shows a practical and solution-focused approach. Regardless of who joins our team, the person who sends us the best story will win a weekend away at the coast for 2.
