About the role

We are looking for an experienced professional Finance Officer to join our small but passionate Finance Team.

This role is a broad, multi-faceted Finance Officer role with particular focus on payroll.  Key aspects of this role include:

  • All aspects of fortnightly payroll processing ensuring accurate payment of wages, superannuation and tax liabilities, as well as leave and other entitlements, worker’s compensation payments, etc.
  • Timely and accurate processing, recording and reporting of Accounts Receivable invoicing and receipting, as well as Donations receipting.
  • Accurate and timely sales proceeds reconciliation and banking, as well as cash handling.
  • Regular daily, monthly and event reporting, as well as ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Support all day-to-day general accounting transactions, preparation of manual journal entries, financial record-keeping and all other policies and procedures.
  • Support end of financial year stocktaking, reporting and auditing processes and procedures.
  • Support the timely and accurate processing, recording and reporting of Accounts Payable when required. 


About you

You are an experienced Finance Officer, ideally with practical experience in payroll processing in particular.

Ideally you already hold a Diploma in Accounting or higher, or you are well-progressed working towards a degree in accounting or a business-related field, OR you can demonstrate the equivalent through your proven hands-on, practical experience.   

You have highly proficient computer skills, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite and Excel, and accounting systems and software, ideally MYOB.

You have a proven track record, you are flexible, organised, have attention to detail, are a pragmatic problem solver, and thrive on supporting and helping others with a strong service ethic and 'safety first, but can do' attitude.

Full time / Part time:  This role is ideal for the right candidate looking to work part-time 3-4 days per week, however will require from time-to-time working on weekends, early starts and late finishes to support THNSW's annual events program.

Location:  This role is based in Thirlmere in the Wollondilly (NSW 2572) and can include some working from home.
