Why study this course

The degree is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in forensic science as a laboratory scientist. With this emphasis in mind, a strong biological chemistry component has been integrated into the degree structure. Forensic science subjects are taken throughout the course to provide the necessary specialisation to complement the broader laboratory science / human science aspects of the degree. UC emphasise, in particular, the laboratory-based fields of forensic biology and forensic chemistry, and cover areas such as the collection and examination of trace evidence, environmental forensic science, toxicology, forensic statistics, specialised chemical/biological analyses, and the interpretation and reporting of analytical results.
