The course outline was easy to follow and the help from peers were fantastic. I had a great time learning new things about the field I was extremely interested in. The only downfall was that I had to be on call a lot to achieve the number of births I required because I was working in a little country hospital.

Challenging but worth it. I find it hard to meet my tutor only once a week or a month as I prefer it on a daily basis.

I wish I went to Notre Dame University to do my Nursing degree. It may have been full on in terms of clinical placements but at the end of the day, they give you full support and assistance when looking for a job. They teach you how to answer selection criteria and check your resume if you want to. In curtin, we were left alone by ourselves. Especially as international student, you don’t really get much support.

The course was as expected, heavy on book learning with less than desired clinical experinced offered by other universities. I liked the inclusion of volunteer hours completed within the course and the opportunity to complete these within the industry.

1). Not Satisfied with some of the preceptors ( Who moniter the progress at clinical placement at a hospital ) from Curtin Uni. 2). Not satisfied with some of the teachers who used to be very strict as far as marking for the assignment is concerned. 3). Failing rate in assignments is high at Curtin University compared to others in WA. 4). I have seen many Asian students, who failed in one of the subjects moved to another university to complete the rest of the course. I would not send any of my relatives to Curtin University to study. I would advise them to pick ECU University.

My uni years didn’t start as I expected it to be. There are rough times and very challenging moments but through hard work, support of the teaching staff and also the great facilities provided, it was all an amazing journey. Knowing that you’ve come across different types of people and learned so many things about the course itself for me it was a rewarding and a sense of fulfilment to myself that I have chose this path. The only thing I could ask for the course is, I wish I got more experience or I have longer practical work hours but in saying that nursing has been very demanding for these years which is why the competition to work for a workplace has been high. I am glad and feel secure that I have finished a degree in Curtin and hopefully this feeling goes the same way for the future graduates of Curtin University.

Studying part of the course online allowed me to continue working as an EN. The information provided in most of the units was relevant to the nursing profession, Unfortunatelly the course included a couple of units that were not relevant to nursing or the way those units were implemented was vague and unclear adding unnecessary difficulty to the course. If I needed some extra information I could attend the lectures to complement the online information which was very helpful. Curtin also had a buddy system to assist students of different cultural background or mature age students, which was also helpful.

Pretty good, lots of theory. Placements are good, but not plenty. Overall I enjoyed it.
