What you’ll learn

You'll develop the knowledge and skills to:

  • Install and configure network hardware and software
  • Design servers based on client requirements
  • Install and integrate a virtual server in a network
  • Analyse business requirements
  • Select strategies for providing cloud storage solutions
  • Implement and manage security functions throughout a network

Resources required

Hardware:

  • PC that is dual core or higher with at least 4GB RAM. You must have administrator rights to install software

MAC computers are not supported for this course.

Software:

  • Microsoft Windows 8 Professional or higher
  • Microsoft Office, LibreOffice, OpenOffice or WPS Office
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Up-to-date virus protection software
  • VMWare workstation (Oracle VirtualBox is not suitable for this course)
  • Microsoft MSDNAA account (contact the OTEN IT Courses helpdesk to gain an account)

Internet & Email:

  • At least 5 - 10GB download per month
  • An active email account
