The top jobs uncovered
Roles for Pickers & Packers in the Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics industry attracted more applications than any other job on advertised on SEEK. The role drew in 14% more applications in 2018 than the year before, and had an average annual advertised salary of $48,498.
Pickers & Packers was also the most applied for job in the eastern states (Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland). Whereas in other parts of the country, roles in Administration & Office Support topped the list, receptionist roles were the most applied for in Australian Capital Territory and Western Australia and Data Entry & Word Processing was the Northern Territory’s most popular job.
Tasmania’s booming tourism industry may be contributing to the growing interest in the Hospitality & Tourism industry—Housekeeping was the most applied for job in the Apple Isle. Over in South Australia, Retail Assistant roles attracted the most candidate applications.
