Overall the course was good. The parts of it that could be improved would be the tutorial components, and fostering a more collaborative and interactive classroom. Many of the tutorials were just mini lectures, and didn't necessarily encourage group work or talking. As I completed my degree many of the units changed to being online exams or featuring assignments that heavily used excel - this was mostly due to Covid but definitely bought the degree more in line with real world expectations of finance jobs. Cost of summer units was too high.

Course could be improved by tutorials being more interactive, rather than mini-lectures. Within your final year you do two capstone units which promote a lot of interaction with other students and higher-order thinking, however before this it is very black and white, routine learning. Covid forced a lot of topics online and increased the use of Excel which is fantastic, as this is more in-line with the "real world". Overall, enjoyed the course and would study at QUT again.
