Why study this course

Start a creative career in fashion with this introductory course. This qualification will give you the entry-level skills required to gain an assistant role in the fashion industry. Australia's fashion industry is thriving. Trends including active wear, the merging of styles (e.g. active wear into daywear), and unisex styles continue to drive demand in this market. In this course you will learn basic skills including how to produce a simple garment, create patterns, sew designs and draw fashion sketches. You will study in a simulated workroom using industrial sewing machines and cutting edge equipment. Completion of this course will give you direct entry into our higher certificates or Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising qualifications. Graduates will also be able to seek employment as a milliners assistant or fashion design assistant.
