Why study this course

This qualification is part of the Metal and Engineering Training Package. It is for new and existing employees in the engineering industry. This program links on-the-job training with training provided off-the-job, thereby ensuring all skills acquired are practical and relevant to industry. Broad based modules aimed at providing students with a well-rounded appreciation of all aspects of the industry include an introduction to computer use in relation to engineering work, machining, using hand and power tools and the fundamentals of electrical concepts and principles. Students may choose the subjects that best complement their existing knowledge and experience and optional modules can also be selected depending on employer's needs. These range from industrial waste management to scrap processing, covering all the elements of engineering.
