Blackhawk Network understands today’s crowded marketplace. We began in the very heart of the retail industry—grocery—where brands have long competed on crowded shelves for customer attention and affection. In 2001, Blackhawk invented a whole new way for brands and retailers to motivate consumers when we launched third-party retailing of gift cards.Through our continued expansion into B2B, B2C, digital settings and international markets, we’ve developed a complete suite of branded value solutions for businesses. Today, Blackhawk Network is a publicly-traded, multinational corporation based in the San Francisco Bay Area with subsidiaries and partners throughout the world including commercial operations in over 25 countries. With innovation at our core, we continue to develop new ways businesses can engage in and maximize rewarding relationships with their customers and employees.Source: this is an extract from the company’s own website.

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Blackhawk Network appreciate the teamwork and great people they work with, as well as the work-life balance and company culture of recognition and innovation. The convenient location of offices close to public transport is also seen as a positive.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as issues with management and leadership, including a lack of direction, micromanagement, and favouritism. There are also challenges with aligning processes and systems across the organisation, particularly after acquisitions. Additionally, the fast-paced environment and workload can be demanding for some employees.

Positive enhancements happening consistently, smart people, continued evolution of product, tech, innovation, processes and benefits.
The good thingsI love the team i work with and working with the broader teams across Asia. I've recently referred people to work here which is testament to how I rate our company - they joined and love it. Also several people left previously and applied to rejoin again - almost 10 have returned in the past 18 months and express how things have changed positively from prior years and prior leadership.
The challengesAfter acquiring other businesses a couple of years ago, it has taken time to align all processes / platforms / systems and that can be frustrating in some teams. There are plans underway to combat this, but it takes time.
