    Adelaide Managment and Trainer
    Jan 2026
Adelaide SA 50004 to 5 years in the role, current employee
A supportive and rewarding environment for Trainers with friendly and compassionate Management.
The good thingsWe have a fantastic and supportive team environment here in Adelaide. Dedicated to the highest level of Student Training and support. We guide extremely talented and dedicated Students on their educational journey towards the Game, VFX and Filmmaking industries making our training lives enjoyable and rewarding. Having Heads of Faculty responsible for curriculum and content development means that pressure is taken off individual trainers (unlike other RTOs and Universities).
The challengesWe're continually improving and streamlining delivery. Trainers have input into that process so can be a challenge for new employees, who are encouraged to hit the ground running with mentorship. There is, however a robust Canvas system that helps on-boarding in regards to getting to grips with all aspects of the curriculum and material ready for delivery.

    Think twice before applying
The good thingsLocal culture and campus staff
The challengesHigh-level nepotism and leadership’s commitment to protecting family and friends over staff. HR’s disregard of employee rights to appease upper management’s short term goals. Misleading employees regarding fair salaries with average pay-rates well below industry standards, across all departments. Operating as a non-for-profit but not allowing employees non-for-profit benefits such as salary sacrifice up to 20% of taxable income outside of superannuation.

    Amazing senior management
The good thingsThe CEO is very hands on in a good way. He will listen to what you have to say, take on feedback to make changes, or explains why things need to operate in a certain way due to the bigger picture in a way that’s understandable and doesn’t feel like mere pushback.
The challengesI’m not as familiar with the video game industry as I would like, which is what we are focused on and makes it challenging.

A mission-driven workplace that struggles with leadership consistency and staff development.
The good thingsWorking at AIE can be rewarding if you’re passionate about games, film, and education. The student outcomes are meaningful, and you’re surrounded by colleagues who genuinely care about helping young people succeed. There’s some flexibility in roles, and the autonomy in certain tasks can satisfying.
The challengesUnfortunately, there’s a disconnect between frontline teams and executive leadership. Decision-making often feels top-down, and internal communication lacks transparency. Opportunities for growth are limited, and internal promotions or development are rarely supported. Micromanagement leadership.

The best job and the best managers I've ever had.
The good thingsAIE is at the forefront of interactive entertainment training and has a glorious history in the industry, so it was great to be a part of that. The trainers are passionate and the corporate staff are knowledgeable and hardworking. Flexible working arrangements meant I had a good work–life balance.
The challengesThere are some old systems and processes that lead to inefficient operations, such as manual data entry. However, there is a continual focus on improvement.

This is one of the best place to work in experience, allowing freedom to be creative & be yourself and love the acknowledgement of the hard work from Management and colleagues.
The good thingsOne the great experience in working with a company with lot of potential and career growth opportunities. I enjoy my time working with supportive people, who are always ready to guide with directions and help you to become better. This is most flexible work place to manage work-life balance. I look forward to Mondays and week just flies away
The challengesAll the challenges have turned into opportunities.

Great entry role into the world of education but limited beyond this
The good thingsBest group of people I’ve ever worked with who you’d actually want to socialise with
The challengesManagement from national level is not proactive at all, will let things implode and staff after to pick up the pieces

    Far from perfect
The good thingsCan be a lot of flexibility, if you work hard there can be a lot of learning opportunity.
The challengesSmaller place, somewhat capable senior management, direction changes at the drop of a coin, supporting of staff needs work and planning ahead is pointless.

Awesome place to work because of friendly, cooperative and learning environment
The good thingsThe Head of school is really kind and soft person who always motivate staff and give them opportunities to learn many things. The Deputy Head of School is also same like HOS, both of them are approachable. When I joined AIE, there were a lot of things which i need to develop my understanding to, but i was given enough time and space to learn and get myself familiar to AIE processes. Wonderful working environment and cooperative team!
The challengesEnough training and guidance is provided at each stage, so i didn't face any challenge at all. May be later in future

Could not find a more enjoyable company or people to work with.
The good thingsThe people here are amazing and I have never had a job before that I look forward to going to in the morning. Working with students to help them achieve their career goals is so rewarding and I am surrounded by like-minded people so we are all on the same page yet we can still discuss and challenge each other with our opinions of the both the game world and the current blockbuster movie.
The challengesFitting in enough time to play games that everyone talks about. Dealing with government funding changes and knowing that we have lost students as they can no longer use the VET Loans Scheme to pay for their course.

The good thingsFriendly team who welcome you as part of the AIE family! Flexible hours and great conditions. Student outcome is the main focus and in return, the students produce amazing results and are picked up by the big name studios!
The challengesPersonally I don’t have any challenges!

    Fantastic people, innovative attitude
The good thingsWorking with a fantastic team of passionate educators, game developers and visual effects artists. Innovative company leading the world in this type of specialist vocational education.
The challengesThe impact of constantly shifting government policy and the associated (lack of) government support for students and their studies.

This is a fair and reasonable workplace and wonderful people in the management
The good thingsI love to work this place. Due to all staff are nice and friendly. Our Head of School is an awesome person and provide us freedom to work and able to voice our our opinions. Work environment is good and our administrators are all having their individual room so they can have their space to work. Our CEO is also a great person and provide our students and staff unlimited support
The challengesThere are many challenges and difficult on the job however, the management and the national office is always provide me enough support so we can handle those tasks or projects by myself.
