Watch your back, there's no support from management.
The good thingsMost of the clients were lovely.
The challengesLack of management support especially with the more difficult clients. Lack of team leader support in a role that can be lonely and you can feel isolated. High turnover of staff on the enquiry line and they often didn't have a clue how to do the role as a result. This could be very frustrating.

I am still here but wholeheartedly hope that it gets better
The good thingsMaking meaningful connections with the clients.
The challengesBeing told that we are paid above award when we are not. Silver Chain pay $34.69 p/h and 99c per kmNever getting the correct answer when a question is asked. Not having regular clients. Office politics and issues with the company operation not being resolved efficiently or effectively which causes double handling and frustration for all. The computer system is inadequate and in turn causes extra work for csw as they have to email info that the already entered into comm are. Unnecessary double handling and stress when on the road or getting calls from el when on the road which I personally find dangerous. They should just text the info and we can text back. Feeling unheard.

A trusted aged care provider, work is fulfilling as I get to hep all different types of people. If you want to work in aged care - give Amana Living a try.
The good thingsAmana Living is focused on quality care for its residents and clients and the safety of its workers. I've worked for a number of aged care and disability providers and can report that managers and staff respond well to the challenges currently facing the sector.
The challengesWork is busy and demanding, just like any other work in the aged care sector.

Not very happy at the moment reevaluating like many others that work there for better avenue's.
The good thingsAged care workers are the only ones who keep the place running 5 stars to them all.
The challengesManagement need to earn how to lead lack insight to what's happening around them don't listen to carers to money orientated and trying reach KPIs at the expense of staff.

    Don’t do it to yourself!!
The good thingsMeeting lovely clients. That’s about it really.
The challengesNo support from your team leader what so ever. They can make you do up to 4.5 hours of cleaning each day and they’re usually back to back. Massive gaps between clients which you don’t get paid for. Your schedule can change last minute. Pay is very low. Just a very unorganised company who don’t care for their staff.

Good place to work but new management has ruined it all
The good thingsAmana living have always been a great place to work in. Great people, great management and great work.
The challengesDue to recent changes to management all the goodness has gone now. It is only the place for politics and cheap work culture. Especially new managers and CFO.

Best organisation that walks the walk
The good thingsAmana Living has the best CEO I have ever worked with - a truly kind and respected leader who treats each person as an individual, not a position. This permeates to my team and we have a great time working together.
The challengesParking in Subiaco is a bit of a challenge but the office is close to the train

Great at the start then probs start developing
The good thingsBeing on the road. Being able to help people in genuine need. Transport services, Social support.
The challengesHaving to account for every minute of every day. Rostering system that always crashes or needs updates. No scheduled breaks. Not enough review or guidance of team leaders. Working 4 or even more hours of cleaning in a day. Low pay.

It’s a rewarding career, it’s the little things that you do that put a smile in your client’s face that will make your day. You work hard as you feels the enjoyment to go to work every day but unfortunately with this company you just lost all motivation to work
The good thingsThe clients and work mates.
The challengesAmana Living just do not appreciate their staff. A company that kept taking and do not offer anything or understanding to their staff.

Should be known as Amana cleaning!
The good thingsthe clients, making a difference
The challengesConstant cleaning jobs, barely any personal care. When you start you get good hours and very little cleaning. The longer you are there less hours as they are constantly hiring new carers.
