Patient care is wonderful but in terms of employees medical and nursing and everything in between an organisation who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing “Cashford”
The good thingsPatient care excellent Multiple staff recognition days Excellent education opportunities and scholarships offered
The challengesManagenent will try and pressure you to take leave without pay or annual when it is quiet or not busy but expect you to work without breaks, past your finish time and dock you if you leave a few minutes early. My pays were always incorrect and I gave up dealing with their payroll in the end. This organization and higher executive management especially OT and ED more recently from what I’ve been informed cannot deal with workplace culture issues and poor turnover internally- they have to get external providers and psychiatrists in to interview staff to change nothing but waste time and resources and funding to accomodate this. As an OT nurse I experienced this first hand. They promote staff to use their chosen employee assistance provider yet the organization hires external providers and psychologists outside of that provider. A long term employee resigned her job over being told in a 2 month period they could not provide a female external provider for an interview based on cultural sensitivity yet advertises on their ad they are culturally friendly and make provisions based on upon this?

Have had great opportunities - work hard, put your hand up and you are recognised
The good thingsGreat team of people who come to work for the same goal. Pay rates are about standard in the private sector. They do recognition well throughout the year, burger days, ice cream vans and milestone years of service afternoon.
The challengesBusy environment, where there are complex patients.

The challengesLow wages, topical of the industry. Very poor supply chain practices that need a total revamp. Management that try to squeeze 14 hours of work into a 7.5 hour day. Managers that do not appreciative enough, not willing to change I'm extremely complicated health-industry. Staff over worked. Period !!!!
